Regular MUG Meeting

We meet at 6:30pm on the second Tuesday of each month at the Farmington Community Library.

Chances are if you''ve recently logged into a Linux or UNIX machine remotely in the past decade you've used SSH. SSH is practically synonymous with access these days but are you getting the most out of your SSH sessions? This talk covers the essentials of SSH use, with the OpenSSH server and the PuTTY and OpenSSH clients. We'll cover debugging, key-based (passwordless) authentication, the strengths and weaknesses of SSH agents, and browsing the web from your server using the browser on on your desktop.

Michael W Lucas ( is the author of a whole bunch of books and articles on systems administration, networking, and more. One of his books is "SSH Mastery."

Plus we'll have our regular features: Jobs Looking for People, People Looking for Jobs, and much more! We'll also be meeting for dinner at Red Lobster in Novi after the meeting.
