Getting Started with Kubernetes and the Cloud Native Ecosystem

Kubernetes has been taking the world by storm, but just what is it? Every day something is being announced in the container space. Is it useful for your organization? How do you get started playing with Kubernetes?

This talk is for people who want to get the summary of what Kubernetes and containers are in the context of a Linux System Administrator. What do you really need to learn? What do you need to avoid? How do you know if you areready for containers?

This talk is for people who are unfamiliar with Kubernetes and containers.A Linux Operations/System Administration background is strongly recommended.

Jorge also has a copy of "Kubernetes Up and Running" by Kelsey Hightower, Brendan Burns, and Joe Beda from O'Reilly Media that we'll be raffling off at the meeting.

Jorge O. Castro currently works at Heptio <http://heptio.com/> where he helps to support and advance the open Kubernetes ecosystem.  He resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan with his lovely wife Jill, their son Rafael, and their two beagles, Oscar and Luna.

Plus we'll have our regular features: Jobs Looking for People, People Looking for Jobs, and much more! We'll also be meeting for dinner at Red Lobster in Novi after the meeting.
