The Michigan!/usr/group (or MUG) is one of Michigan’s longest-running UNIX users groups. Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month featuring a wide variety of UNIX, Linux, and Open Source technologies. Meetings are free to attend, and all are welcome.
We also live-stream the meetings and record them. See our Videos page for more details.

Michigan!/usr/group is governed by a Board of Directors. You can reach us by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
We usually have a board meeting on the last Tuesday of the month, and the location changes each month. Our board meetings are open to the full membership of the user group, but because space is limited we do not announce them on the mailing lists.
If you would like to attend a MUG Board meeting, please let us know BEFORE the last Tuesday of the month, and we’ll give you the details about where and when.
The members of the board of directors for the current term (April 2019 – April 2020) are:
- Lazarro “Carlos” Carroll
- James Hice
- Craig Maloney
- Jim McQuillan
- Dave Satwicz
- Justin Triplett
- Jim Glutting (board member emeritus)
- Sharan Kalwani (board member emeritus)
