The Michigan!/usr/group (or MUG) is one of Michigan’s longest-running UNIX users groups. Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month featuring a wide variety of UNIX, Linux, and Open Source technologies. Meetings are free to attend, and all are welcome.

MUG Mailing List
MUG has 2 mailing lists for members to use, they are:
- Discuss – general discussion of Unix/Linux related topics (low-medium traffic)
- Announce – monthly announcements (low traffic)
You can often find MUG members on Freenode. Come join us on #mugorg and #ubuntu-us-mi!
Michigan!/usr/group is governed by a Board of Directors. You can reach us by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
We usually have a board meeting on the last Tuesday of the month, and the location changes each month. Our board meetings are open to the full membership of the user group, but we don’t announce them ahead of time. If you’d like to attend a MUG Board meeting, please let us know sometime BEFORE the last Tuesday of the month, and we’ll give you the details about where and when.
The members of the board of directors for the current term (April 2015 – April 2016) are:
- Jim McQuillan
- Jim Glutting
- Dave Satwicz
- James Hice
- Craig Maloney
- Gib Nichols
