MUG/MDLUG Install Fest

In celebration of Software Freedom Day, the Michigan!/usr/group, in association with MDLUG is hosting an Install Fest at Oakland University, in Rochester Hills, MI.

If you've been wanting to jump into the world of Linux, but didn't know quite how to get started, then this event is perfect for you.

Or, if you're an old hand at Linux, come by and help out.

You can go in University Drive or enter off Squirrel Road turning on to Pioneer Drive and then left onto Library Drive, the third parking lot on the right is lot 36.

What to bring:

If you have a computer (laptop/desktop/server) that you want to install Linux on, then bring it along, and we'll help you install your favorite distribution.

We'll have ISO images of Ubuntu, Suse, Fedora, Debian, Slackware, Mandriva, Knoppix and K12LTSP available, so you can pick what you want.

How to help spread the word

We've got a flyer that you can print out and pass around. They're great for posting at book stores, computer stores, grocery stores, whatever...

About MUG

MUG (Michigan!/usr/group) is the oldest Unix users group in the Detroit area. Started back in 1986 to provide a forum for people to meet and learn about Unix related topics. Monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Farmington Community Library on 12-mile road, between Orchard Lake and Farmington Road, in Farmington Hills. The meetings start at 6:30pm, and run until approximately 8:45pm, with dinner at a local restaurant afterwards.

About MDLUG

MDLUG (Metro Detroit Linux Users Group) is an informal community roup ogranized to advocate the GNU/Linux operating system by educating the public and socializing among peers. Monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday of every month, from 12:30pm until 2:30pm, at the Roseville Theatre, on Utica road, at the corner of Gratiot, in Roseville.
