Main Topic: Regular ExpressionsIf you look at the following: /[A-Za-z0-9._%+-]+@[A-Za-z0-9.-]+\.[A-Za-z]{2,4}/ And think it looks like line noise, then you'll definitely want to come to the meeting to learn how to read this and other regular expressions. On the other hand, if you look at that above regex and easily see that it's checking for a valid email address (for some definition of valid), then you should also come to the meeting. In fact, we need a few more people to help out. We'd like to have 5 people talk about various aspects of regular expressions, from the intro level all the way to advanced level regex's. We've already got 3 people lined up, and we're looking for 2 more. If you think you have something to share in regard to regular expressions, whether you are using sed, grep, perl, python or something else, please consider spending 10-15 minutes with the group, to show what you know. We're expecting this to be a very interactive meeting, where everybody will learn something. Please let us know if you can help out by sending an email to board@mug.orgdebconfJorge Castro will be filling us in on what happened at the annual Debian Developer Conference.grepWhat is a discussion of regular expression without one of it friends along? Chris will give us a glimpse of grep.If you have topics for future meetings you would like us to cover please email the board, thanks.
