Main Topic: The Creative Commons License

Greg currently works part time for Creative Commons as a Community Assistant liaising with the Free/Open Source Software community. His time is spent helping developers learn about and implement new features using software developed by Creative Commons. Greg also works part time with the Open.Michigan project at the University of Michigan where he manages student workers to create Open Education Resources that are put online available for all to use and remix. Most importantly, Greg finished his graduate degree from the University of Michigan this semester with a Masters of Science in Information.

Greg will be giving a presentation that will answer these questions:

• What is Creative Commons?
• Why do I care about Creative Commons? and
• What is the relationship between Creative Commons and Free/Open Source Software?

Second Topic: Ubuntu 9.04 - What's new

Jorge will be showing us some of the cool new features of the latest release of Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) and also we can probe him about upcoming features in the next release (9.10 - Karmic Koala)

Command of the month: rsync

In this month's Unix Command Line session, Duane Brown will tell us how he is using rsync for backup, and wants to know what you use rsync for.

Everything Else
As usual we'll discuss any current happenings in the Linux community, have our book giveaway, and plan on some dinner after the meeting where you can hammer our speakers with the hard hitting questions they deserve.
