This month, we've got an awesome jam-packed array of presentations. In fact, you'll want to make sure you show up on time, because we need to get this meeting rolling as early as possible, so that we can fit it all in.

Main Topic: Virtualization

• Tom Edgar will start with a presentation on the general concept of virtualization. He's been researching virtualization for quite a while, and worked with several different types. He's got a lot to show us. Should be very interesting.   Tom's VM Presentation

• Scott Moser has some interesting stuff to show us about something called OVF (Open Virtualization Format). It describes how a "virtual appliance" is packaged so that a user can easily use it. OVF has been submitted to the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) to be approved as a standard for delivery of virtual appliances.

• John Sivak will give us a presentation on Virtual Box which is an open source virtualization product that is being developed by Sun Microsystems.

Secondary Topic: Hosted apps on Source Forge

Craig Maloney is working as a software engineer for Source Forge. He's involved in something called "Hosted Apps" and he'll show us all about it.

Command of the month: tput

In this month's Unix Command Line session, Raymond McLaughlin will show us the tput utility that uses the terminfo database to make terminal-dependent capabilities and information available to the shell. With this your shell scripts can initialize or reset the terminal, hide the cursor, set bold, underline, color and even blinking of the text on the screen.

As usual we'll discuss any current happenings in the Linux community, have our book giveaway, and plan on some dinner after the meeting where you can hammer our speakers with the hard hitting questions they deserve.
