Main Topic: Android Developers Kit

Dave Satwicz

Dave Satwicz will present a session on Google's Android Environment and developing applications for it. Android is a complete open source operating environment primarily for mobile devices like cell phones. The mobile computing world, which includes Apple iPhone, Blackberry, Palm, and others, is already huge. Some think that because Android is open that it will become one of the leading mobile platforms.

Secondary Topic: open street maps

Dick Williams

Recently Dick attended the Open Street Maps meetup he'll give us an introduction to OpenStreetMap, a quick demo in correcting street level aberrations, adding poi (points of interest) and cyclemap route planning.

Command of the month: wget

In this month's Unix Command Line session, Brad McMahon will show wget, the free utility for non-interactive download of files from the Web.

Everything Else
As usual we'll discuss any current happenings in the Linux community, have our book giveaway, and plan on some dinner after the meeting where you can hammer our speakers with the hard hitting questions they deserve.

If you have topics for future meetings you would like us to cover please email the board, thanks.
