Modern Shell Tools
Tools evolve, including all the tools you’re used to in the shell. This talk shows new choices, how to use them, and why they might be better than what you’re using now.
The tools we'll cover include: amber, bat, fd, ripgrep (rg), tldr, mcfly, fzf, exa, HTTPie, sd, jq, and more.
Wolf will be showing what problems these tools solve, how to use them, where to get them, and how to configure them. He'll also show a few things he has built on top of them.
Wolf has been a software engineer for 40 years and spoken on Open Source related topics around the world. He's worked on such varied projects as Mozilla, Final Cut Pro, the Newton, and the SoundDroid. He currently works on K-12 learning software at Cambium Learning Group in Ann Arbor, MI.
Plus we'll have our regular features: Jobs Looking for People, People Looking for Jobs, and much more!
