Large Language Models

Justin Triplett will give a mini-presentation on Large Language Models or LLMs. This is a common name for the technology you might have heard about in the form of ChatGPT, LLaMA, and Alpaca.

He will cover the recent developments that have been happening over the past year from different companies and organizations, and go over the basic concepts of how they are made and used. Also he will be showing demonstrations of running some models locally and in other environments.

There should be some time for group discussion.


UUID - Universally Unique Identifiers

What are they and what are they useful for?

Jim McQuillan will give a mini-presentation on UUIDs He'll cover the history, versions, uniqueness and why you might want to be using them. In addition, he'll show examples of generating them in various programming languages.
