Using SSH in a Scalable and Secure Way by Marlon Dutra
SSH is one of the most used tools by any systems administrator. It became the de facto standard for accessing systems in the early 2000s. Despite the ubiquity of SSH and the large number of users who use it, most of them are unaware of how extensive its special features are. In this talk, you will learn how Facebook leverages some advanced features of OpenSSH to manage its very large infrastructure efficiently. You will also learn how to set up proper authentication, authorization and accounting, keeping things simple, scalable and easily manageable.
Marlon has over 20 years of experience in distributed systems, with a strong background in infrastructure, Linux systems, network and security. Marlon has worked for Facebook since 2012, where he is a Production Engineer and serves as a technical leader for the production engineering security team. He currently lives in California and is traveling to Michigan to present this talk at MUG. You won't want to miss this unique opportunity to learn how Facebook scales their infrastructure with SSH.
Plus we'll have our regular features: Jobs Looking for People, People Looking for Jobs, and much more! We'll also be meeting for dinner at Red Lobster in Novi after the meeting.
