Rebuilding the Linux Desktop (immutable distributions)

In this talk Jorge Castro will go over what people call "immutable distributions", which seek to address fundamental resilience issues in Linux Distributions. We'll cover containers, read-only filesystems, flatpaks, and associated technologies. If you've followed Jorge for any length of time you'll know that this is a topic that he's absolutely passionate about so it promises to be a fun ride.

Jorge O. Castro is a community manager, specializing in Open Source. He's basically a cat herder – a combination of engineering, developer relations, and user advocacy.  He has worked at Canonical, Heptio, VMWare, and more. These days Jorge is a Developer Advocate at the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, where he's tasked with a singular goal: help make open source sustainable. It is the Final Shape.

Plus we'll have our regular features: Jobs Looking for People, People Looking for Jobs, and much more!
